Le Fantôme #352

Le Fantôme, the French translation of Lee Falk’s The Phantom, became a cornerstone of European pulp and adventure comics during the mid-twentieth century. Issue #352 was published as part of the long-running series that brought the adventures of the 'Ghost Who Walks' to francophone readers, maintaining the enduring appeal of the masked hero as he battles piracy and corruption in the fictional African nation of Bangalla.

The character design remains rooted in Ray Moore’s original 1936 vision, emphasizing the iconic purple bodysuit and skull ring. While the interior artwork for these mid-series issues often featured reprints of syndicated American strips or commissioned work by European illustrators tasked with maintaining the aesthetic established by Sy Barry, the series was received as a standard of heroic adventure fiction that prioritized moral clarity and serialized action for a loyal audience.
