Legionnaires #10

Legionnaires #10 was published in January 1994 as part of DC Comics' post-Zero Hour era, a period defined by an extensive reboot of the Legion of Super-Heroes continuity. The series served as a companion title to Legion of Super-Heroes, focusing on the younger, more adventurous side of the team. During this time, the editorial team sought to revitalize the brand by distancing the characters from decades of complex, pre-Crisis lore in favor of a fresh, character-driven approach that appealed to 1990s comic book sensibilities.

The issue features the creative team of writer Tom Bierbaum and Mary Bierbaum, with interior art by Chris Sprouse. Sprouse, known for his clean lines and expressive character work, was instrumental in establishing the visual identity of this iteration of the team. The narrative focuses on the internal dynamics and evolving interpersonal relationships of the young heroes, reflecting the writers' attempt to ground the high-concept science fiction premise in relatable human drama, which was a hallmark of the Bierbaums' long-standing tenure on the franchise.
