Legionnaires #9

Legionnaires #9, published in December 1993, belongs to the post-Zero Hour era of DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes line. This specific title was launched to offer a more focused perspective on the Legion's younger members, distinguishing itself from the main Legion of Super-Heroes series by providing character-driven narratives within the rebooted continuity of the 30th century.

The issue was written by Tom Bierbaum and Mary Bierbaum, with interior art by Chris Sprouse, whose work on the series is often noted for its clean, modern aesthetic that defined the look of the Legion during the mid-nineties. The creative team aimed to balance the expansive, often dense lore of the Legion franchise with accessible storytelling, a task that generally received positive marks from fans of the science fiction-heavy DC lineup.
