Lenore: Curse of the Beebee Yaga #1

Lenore: Curse of the Beebee Yaga #1 is part of the long-running dark humor series created by Roman Dirge. First appearing in 1997, the character of Lenore, a deceased little girl, became a cult icon of the gothic-cute aesthetic. This specific title, published by Titan Comics, continues Dirge's signature blend of morbid innocence and surreal black comedy, reflecting a style heavily influenced by Edward Gorey and the alternative comic scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The artistic direction remains consistent with Dirge’s established minimalist, hand-drawn style, which emphasizes expressive character work over complex backgrounds to highlight the absurdity of Lenore's afterlife adventures. The series was created to explore the whimsical yet macabre misadventures of its titular character, and it has been well-received by fans of the gothic pop culture movement for its unwavering commitment to a unique, darkly playful voice that defies traditional genre conventions.
