Les 5 Terres #15

Les 5 Terres, a high-fantasy political epic written by Lewelyn and illustrated primarily by Jérôme Lereculey, began its publication run in 2019 under the Delcourt label. The series is distinguished by its anthropomorphic approach to a complex, multi-layered struggle for power across five distinct lands, drawing significant thematic inspiration from classic dynastic narratives such as George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. Issue 15 serves as a pivotal installment in the sprawling saga, maintaining the series' signature blend of intricate world-building, political maneuvering, and high-stakes drama.

The artistic direction led by Jérôme Lereculey utilizes a grounded, realistic style that contrasts sharply with the animalistic character designs, anchoring the fantastical premise in a visceral, gritty reality. Upon its debut, the series garnered widespread critical acclaim in the European comics market for its narrative ambition and the seamless integration of visual storytelling with dense, episodic character arcs. The creative team aimed to elevate the anthropomorphic genre by stripping away traditional whimsical tropes, opting instead for a somber, serious exploration of power, betrayal, and cultural tension.
