Linda och Valentins äventyr #1

Linda och Valentins äventyr #1, known in its original French as Les Mauvais Rêves, was first published in 1967 in the pages of the Franco-Belgian comics magazine Pilote. Created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières, the series emerged during a period of creative experimentation in European science fiction, aiming to move beyond the tropes of space opera by blending high-concept temporal paradoxes with grounded, character-driven storytelling.

The aesthetic of the debut issue was defined by Mézières' illustrative style, which utilized intricate linework to establish a distinct visual language for the series' galactic environments. Upon its release, the work was met with critical acclaim for its sophisticated narrative structure and its influence on later science fiction cinema, ultimately serving as a cornerstone of the bande dessinée medium and paving the way for the series' long-standing international presence.
