Linda och Valentins äventyr #7

Linda och Valentins äventyr, known internationally as Valérian and Laureline, began as a French science fiction series created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. The seventh volume, originally titled Sur les terres truculentes de Chandamour in French, was published in 1977 during a period when the series had firmly established itself as a cornerstone of European space opera. The story follows the titular duo as they navigate complex political and fantastical landscapes, reflecting the creators' signature blend of satirical social commentary and imaginative world-building.

Jean-Claude Mézières’ design philosophy for the series was deeply influenced by his time spent in the United States, which helped him transition away from classic Franco-Belgian styles toward a more cinematic, fluid aesthetic. His work on this volume is noted for its intricate character designs and lush environments, which challenged the traditional boundaries of comics at the time. The series received widespread critical acclaim for its narrative depth and artistic innovation, eventually exerting a profound influence on modern science fiction cinema and literature.
