MAD #443

MAD magazine issue number 443 was published in June 2004, a period during which the publication continued its long-standing tradition of biting social commentary and pop culture parody. Under the editorial guidance of the E.C. Publications team, this era of the magazine was characterized by its ability to pivot quickly to address the rapidly evolving political and media landscape of the early 2000s, maintaining the distinct satirical voice established by founder Harvey Kurtzman and longtime editor Al Feldstein.

The issue features artwork and written humor from the magazine's seasoned stable of contributors, who were tasked with lampooning the trends, celebrities, and blockbusters that defined the cultural zeitgeist of mid-2004. Like other issues from this volume, the design relies on the classic, high-contrast visual style that became the magazine's signature, utilizing caricatures and irreverent graphic layouts that have remained consistent since the magazine's transition to a commercial color format.
