MAD #460

Published in December 2005, MAD issue #460 reflects the magazine's long-standing tradition of biting cultural satire during a period of significant political and media transition. The issue captures the aesthetic shift of the early 2000s, maintaining the signature MAD house style characterized by detailed, caricatured illustrations and irreverent, punch-heavy parodies that targeted the pop culture landscape of the mid-aughts.

The design and content were guided by the editorial staff under the direction of long-time editor John Ficarra, who oversaw the magazine's transition into its later color-heavy phase. The issue features cover art by Mark Fredrickson, whose work often utilized vivid, hyper-exaggerated acrylic paintings to lampoon celebrities and politicians. Like many issues from this era, it was received as a nostalgic yet cynical touchstone for readers navigating the increasingly fractured media environment of the time.
