Where it came from
Magia Record: Another Story serves as a manga adaptation of the mobile game spin-off set within the expansive Puella Magi Madoka Magica universe. Published by Houbunsha in Manga Time Kirara Forward, this series was created to flesh out the narrative of the Kamihama City branch of the franchise, specifically focusing on the perspective of characters like Iroha Tamaki as they navigate the darker implications of magical girl contracts.
The art and storytelling for this adaptation were handled by artists dedicated to capturing the iconic aesthetic established by the original anime studio, Shaft. This particular volume continues the exploration of the 'Another Story' arc, which provides context for the game's branching paths. Upon its release, the volume was received by fans as a faithful expansion of the source material, valued for its ability to deepen the lore surrounding the Witches and the emotional burden carried by the magical girls in this new setting.
