Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #11

The Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves was a supernatural anthology series published by Charlton Comics, first appearing in 1967. Issue number 11 was released in 1969, a period when Charlton was experimenting with horror and suspense themes to compete with the broader market. The series focused on the titular Dr. Graves, a host character similar to those found in rival titles like Tales from the Crypt, who served as a narrator for various tales of the macabre.

The stories and art within these issues were frequently handled by a rotating stable of Charlton's core talent, including writers like Joe Gill and artists such as Steve Ditko. The design aesthetic relied on the gritty, high-contrast printing techniques typical of the publisher's budget-conscious production. While the series was never as widely distributed as those from DC or Marvel, it maintained a cult following for its specific tone, which blended traditional ghost stories with the slightly off-kilter, minimalist style that defined the Charlton 'house style' of the late sixties.
