Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #58

The Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves was a long-running horror anthology series published by Charlton Comics, beginning in the late 1960s. Issue number 58 arrived toward the latter half of the series' lifespan in the mid-1970s, a period when Charlton was known for its distinct, low-budget aesthetic and its reliance on a small but dedicated stable of creators who kept the title afloat amidst a crowded market of supernatural comics.

The series was famously hosted by the character Dr. Michael Graves, a paranormal investigator whose presence served as a thematic bridge between the disparate short stories within each issue. The artwork in this era often featured contributors like Pat Boyette or Charles Nicholas, who employed a stark, high-contrast illustrative style characteristic of the era's budget-conscious publishing standards. These stories were designed to provide quick, macabre thrills, reflecting the enduring popularity of the suspense and horror genres during the Silver and Bronze Ages of comics.
