Marc Spector: Moon Knight #23

Marc Spector: Moon Knight #23, released in early 1991, serves as a pivotal moment in the series' ongoing exploration of the character's complex psychological state and his transition away from his traditional Marvel Comics roots. Published during a time when the character was moving toward darker, more street-level narratives, this issue continues the momentum of the creative team's efforts to redefine the Moon Knight mythos for a 1990s audience.

The issue features the artistic contributions of Sal Velluto, whose work on the series is often noted for its refined, detailed approach to the titular character's costume and the atmospheric, noir-influenced settings. Writing duties for the series during this period were handled by Chuck Dixon, who focused on heightening the grit and intensity of Spector's vigilantism, successfully grounding the supernatural elements of the character within a tense, urban crime drama framework that resonated with readers of the era.
