The narrative centers on a young man named Ikurō Hashizawa who is implanted with a parasitic organism known as Baoh, granting him terrifying biological weaponry while he is hunted by a secret society.

The character design reflects the gritty, high-contrast aesthetic favored by 80s seinen and shonen horror manga, heavily influenced by Western science fiction cinema like The Thing.
