Nanado Nado Nado #1

Nanado Nado Nado #1 serves as the inaugural entry in a surrealist indie comic series that emerged during the late 2010s. The series was conceived by independent creators as an experimental project focusing on abstract visual storytelling and non-linear narrative structures. It was designed to challenge conventional panel layouts, opting instead for dense, layered imagery intended to immerse the reader in a disorienting, dreamlike environment.

The art style of the debut issue is characterized by its stark, high-contrast monochrome ink work, which emphasizes texture over traditional character anatomy. Upon its initial self-published release, the series was received primarily within niche underground comic circles, where it was noted for its unconventional aesthetic and deliberate avoidance of mainstream genre tropes. It remains a cult curiosity recognized for its departure from standard independent serialization.
