Nichijô - Récits du Quotidien #6

Nichijô - Récits du Quotidien, authored by Keiichi Arawi, began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shōnen Ace magazine in 2006. The series presents a surreal, absurdist take on the mundane experiences of high school students and their peculiar surroundings. Volume 6 continues the series' signature blend of rapid-fire gag comedy and hyper-detailed artistic transitions, reflecting Arawi’s intent to juxtapose the unremarkable nature of student life with extreme, often chaotic visual metaphors.

The French edition, published by Kurokawa, brought this specific aesthetic to Francophone readers, maintaining Arawi’s distinctive linework and eccentric character designs. Upon its release, the series garnered significant critical attention for its departure from standard slice-of-life tropes. It is widely regarded by enthusiasts of contemporary manga as a technical marvel that pushes the boundaries of comedic timing and sequential visual humor.
