Nichijô - Récits du Quotidien #7

Nichijô - Récits du Quotidien, known in Japan simply as Nichijou, was created by manga artist Keiichi Arawi and first serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Shōnen Ace magazine in 2006. This seventh volume continues the series' signature blend of surreal, absurdist humor with the mundane experiences of high school students in the fictional city of Tokisadame. Arawi's distinctive, minimalist art style and his penchant for escalating trivial daily occurrences into explosive, high-stakes comedic scenarios defined the manga's unique aesthetic.

The series gained significant international recognition following its 2011 anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation. While the manga initially cultivated a cult following for its unconventional pacing and eccentric character designs, the expanded reach of the franchise solidified its reputation as a modern staple of the slice-of-life genre. Volume seven remains consistent with the established tone of the series, reflecting Arawi's ongoing exploration of the thin line between ordinary reality and the utterly bizarre.
