Noside Quest #2

Noside Quest is a creative offshoot of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, specifically centered on the work of the cartoonist Riss. Published in the wake of the magazine's long-standing tradition of provocative social commentary, the series adopts a narrative comic format to explore Riss’s dark, cynical outlook on contemporary political life. The second issue continues the series' exploration of institutional decay, utilizing a grotesque aesthetic to dismantle the prestige of political figures.

Riss, who serves as the editorial director of Charlie Hebdo, provides the illustrations and scripts for the series. His style is characterized by heavy lines and deliberate distortion, intended to evoke a sense of discomfort that matches the bleak, nihilistic tone of his satire. The series is primarily received by followers of the magazine’s history, finding its audience among those who appreciate the abrasive and unflinching visual language that has defined the publication since its inception.
