Ooya-san wa Shishunki! #21

Ooya-san wa Shishunki! is a long-running Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Rusu Matake. The series began serialization in the seinen magazine Manga Time in 2012, capturing a niche audience with its gentle, domestic premise centered on a young girl acting as a landlord for her tenants. Issue 21 represents a specific point in the ongoing print serialization of these lighthearted, episodic chapters that define the series' modest but enduring appeal within the gag manga genre.

The aesthetic of the series is characterized by Matake's clean, minimalist linework, which emphasizes character expressions and cozy, everyday environments. The design philosophy focuses on 'iyashikei' or healing themes, aiming to provide readers with a low-stakes, comforting narrative experience. While the series maintains a relatively quiet profile compared to mainstream shonen titles, it gained enough sustained popularity to be adapted into a short-form anime television series in 2016, solidifying its status as a recognized staple of its publishing house.
