Open-Car Girls #3

Open-Car Girls was a short-lived comic book series published in the late 1940s, situated within the broader context of the post-World War II pulp and romance comic boom. These publications often utilized pin-up style illustrations and lighthearted, adventure-oriented narratives to appeal to readers looking for escapism, blending the automotive fascination of the era with stylized character designs.

The series is primarily remembered for its distinctive cover art, which leaned heavily into the mid-century illustration aesthetic characterized by vibrant colors and idealized figures. While the specific creative teams behind the titles were often subject to the editorial anonymity common to smaller publishers of that period, the work reflects the standard industry approach of the time, where visual appeal was prioritized to drive newsstand sales among casual readers.
