Paradise X #10

Paradise X #10, published by Marvel Comics in 2003, serves as the conclusion to the third chapter of Alex Ross and Jim Krueger’s ambitious Earth X trilogy. Building upon the complex, dystopian reimagining of the Marvel Universe established in the preceding Earth X and Universe X series, this issue focuses on the cosmic resolution of the narrative's central conflicts involving the Celestials and the evolution of humanity. It represents a significant creative effort to deconstruct traditional superhero mythos through a grounded, albeit dark, lens of speculative fiction.

The visual identity of this series is defined by the distinct, painted aesthetic of Alex Ross, who provided both the intricate cover art and the expansive character designs. Ross sought to apply a sense of historical gravitas and grounded realism to classic comic book archetypes, a stylistic choice that was met with significant critical interest during the early 2000s. The writing by Jim Krueger complements these visuals by weaving a dense, metaphysical plot that challenged readers to reconsider the legacy of the Marvel canon, ultimately cementing the series' status as a notable entry in the publisher's modern myth-making projects.
