Peacemaker #2

Peacemaker #2 was published by Charlton Comics in 1967 as part of a short-lived series centered on Christopher Smith, a diplomat dedicated to peace who utilizes extreme violence to achieve his goals. The character was created by writer Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyette, emerging during a period where Charlton was experimenting with character-driven action titles that often juxtaposed moral ambiguity with traditional superhero tropes.

The visual direction of the series was spearheaded by Pat Boyette, whose distinct, crisp illustrative style captured the stark aesthetic of the era's mid-century espionage narratives. While the Peacemaker series did not achieve broad commercial success during its initial 1960s run, it gained a significant cult following over subsequent decades, eventually influencing the tone and thematic direction of the character following his integration into the wider DC Comics universe.
