Poison Ivy: Deluxe Edition #1

Poison Ivy: The Deluxe Edition collects the initial limited series written by G. Willow Wilson and illustrated primarily by Marcio Takara, which premiered in 2022. This narrative was born out of DC's efforts to re-examine the character’s motivations, shifting her from a traditional villain toward a more complex, eco-horror antiheroine. The story finds Dr. Pamela Isley in a weakened state, embarking on a cross-country journey that serves as both a meditation on climate change and a deeply personal character study.

The aesthetic of the series is defined by Takara’s lush, organic linework, which contrasts sharply with the harsh industrial landscapes Ivy encounters. The Deluxe Edition was produced to provide a high-quality, oversized archival format for these issues, reflecting the critical acclaim the series received for its lyrical prose and atmospheric art. It is often cited as a definitive modern interpretation of the character, praised for balancing social commentary with the dark, botanical fantasy that has defined the protagonist since her introduction.
