Power Pack #38

Power Pack #38 was published in August 1988 as part of the long-running Marvel Comics series centered on the Power children, who gained superhuman abilities from an alien benefactor. This specific issue arrived during a period of creative transition for the title, as it navigated shifting editorial tones and a move toward more mature, grounded storylines that began to distance the series from its earlier, strictly juvenile roots.

The issue was written by Jon Bogdanove, who also provided the pencils, a role he held during a significant portion of the series' mid-run. Bogdanove’s art style was known for its dynamic, expressive quality, which helped convey the balance between the characters' mundane domestic struggles and their escalating superhuman conflicts. While the series was often praised for its unique perspective on the superhero genre through a family-centric lens, Power Pack #38 remains a snapshot of the experimental narrative direction the creators explored before the title’s eventual cancellation in 1991.
