Power Pack #4

Power Pack #4, released in late 1984, was part of a groundbreaking Marvel Comics series created by writer Louise Simonson and artist June Brigman. The title was notable for centering on a team of four pre-teen siblings who gained superpowers from an extraterrestrial dying to save Earth, marking a departure from the typical demographic of Marvel protagonists at the time. Simonson and Brigman aimed to balance typical superhero adventure with the genuine emotional dynamics and domestic responsibilities of children.

This specific issue is well-regarded by collectors for the debut of the character Powerhouse, a pivotal moment in the series' early arc. The creative team’s ability to weave mature themes of loss and family duty into a title marketed toward younger readers earned them critical acclaim. It remains a staple of 1980s independent-spirited superhero storytelling, representing a period where Marvel experimented with diverse character archetypes and innovative narrative tones.
