Where it came from
Project Yuriforming! #2 emerged as a follow-up installment in a niche series of independent zines and illustrated works centered on the intersection of speculative world-building and character-driven narratives. Produced during a period of renewed interest in small-press artistic experiments, the series was designed to explore themes of transformation and communal development within a stylized, aestheticized framework.
The visual identity of this issue was crafted by artists associated with the indie illustration circuit, who aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgic futurism through a limited color palette and deliberate line work. Upon its release, the project gained a modest but dedicated following within digital art communities, where it was noted for its departure from traditional serial storytelling in favor of an atmospheric, concept-led presentation.
