Resident Alien: One More for the Road #1

Resident Alien: One More for the Road #1 serves as the debut installment of the fifth limited series in the long-running Dark Horse Comics franchise created by writer Peter Hogan and artist Steve Parkhouse. Launched in 2024, the series continues the narrative of Harry Vanderspeigle, an extraterrestrial stranded on Earth who assumes the life of a small-town doctor. The series remains rooted in the gentle, mystery-focused tone established in the 2012 debut, which prioritized character-driven storytelling and the quiet exploration of human behavior through an outsider's lens.

The visual identity of this issue, as with the preceding volumes, relies on Steve Parkhouse’s signature watercolor style, which deliberately avoids the high-octane aesthetic common in superhero comics. Hogan’s writing aims for a poignant, contemplative atmosphere, centering on Harry’s evolving integration into the community of Patience, Washington. Upon its release, the series was received by critics as a faithful extension of the established canon, praised for maintaining the grounded, melancholic charm that helped the property transition into a successful television adaptation.
