Sayonara Yūrei-chan #1

Sayonara Yūrei-chan #1 serves as the inaugural chapter of the manga series written and illustrated by the artist known as Auri Hirano. The series emerged from the landscape of independent web-manga serialization, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2010s digital art scene. Hirano sought to blend melancholy with whimsical character design, focusing on the interactions between the living and the spectral in a way that resonated with contemporary readers of lighthearted supernatural fiction.

Upon its initial release, the series found a niche audience through its expressive character work and minimalist paneling. While the series did not reach the scale of mainstream blockbusters, it became a point of interest for collectors of independent manga for its distinct visual identity. The first issue is often viewed as the definitive introduction to the series’ atmospheric tone and serves as the foundation for the expanded narratives that followed in subsequent releases.
