Sayonara Black Kigyō: Hero Bengoshi Kisaragi Itsuki no Honkai #2

Sayonara Black Kigyō: Hero Bengoshi Kisaragi Itsuki no Honkai is a manga series that explores the harsh realities of Japanese corporate culture through the lens of a legal thriller. The second issue continues the narrative arc following Kisaragi Itsuki, a lawyer who specializes in dismantling exploitative labor practices, often referred to as black kigyō. The series emerged during a period of heightened social discourse regarding labor rights and workplace mental health in Japan, positioning its protagonist as a crusader against systemic institutional abuse.

The aesthetic of the series leans into the dramatic tension typical of legal manga, utilizing sharp character designs and intense panel layouts to underscore the gravity of the legal battles depicted. The storytelling aims to balance procedural accuracy with an idealized vision of justice, a common trope in genre fiction designed to resonate with readers who feel marginalized by corporate environments. The reception of the series has been largely tied to its thematic relevance, drawing attention for its candid, albeit fictionalized, take on contemporary Japanese employment issues.
