Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #107

Groo the Wanderer #107 was published in 1993 during the long-running series' tenure at Image Comics. Created by legendary cartoonist Sergio Aragonés and writer Mark Evanier, the character of Groo was born out of a desire to parody the stereotypical muscle-bound barbarians of fantasy literature. By the early 1990s, the title had already cemented its reputation for slapstick humor, intricate background gags, and a unique visual style that highlighted the chaos inherent in Groo's travels through his fictional world.

The design and artistic direction of the series were handled exclusively by Aragonés, whose rapid, expressive line work is a hallmark of the medium. His approach aimed to balance physical comedy with satirical social commentary, ensuring that while Groo was an instrument of destruction, the stories remained lighthearted and accessible. Issue #107, like its predecessors, received praise for its consistent quality and the enduring chemistry between Aragonés and Evanier, maintaining a dedicated cult following that appreciated the character's refusal to evolve into a serious hero.
