Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng #19

Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng, known internationally as Salaryman Kintaro, was created by Hiroshi Motomiya and serialized in Weekly Young Jump beginning in 1994. The series emerged during a period of Japanese economic transition, reflecting the shifting attitudes toward the traditional corporate salaryman structure through the eyes of its protagonist, a former motorcycle gang leader turned construction worker and corporate employee.

Issue 19 sits within the long-running narrative arc that explores the clash between Motomiya's rugged, blue-collar protagonist and the rigid, bureaucratic world of Japanese business. Motomiya’s bold, cinematic art style was instrumental in grounding the series, which was received as a gritty, character-driven examination of professional integrity and social hierarchy. The manga's design and thematic focus on perseverance contributed to its successful adaptation into live-action cinema and television series.
