Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng #24

Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng, known internationally as Salaryman Kintaro, was created by manga artist Hiroshi Motomiya and began serialization in 1994. The series follows Kintaro Yajima, a former biker gang leader who transitions into a corporate salaryman at a large construction firm. Issue number 24 falls within the original run of this seinen manga, which became a cultural touchstone for its exploration of post-bubble economy workplace dynamics, loyalty, and the friction between traditional Japanese corporate hierarchies and the protagonist's unconventional, blunt approach to management.

Motomiya’s art style is characterized by bold lines and expressive character designs that emphasize the physical presence of his protagonist in contrast to the rigid, sanitized environment of the boardroom. The series was well-received for providing a grounded, albeit idealized, perspective on the life of an everyday worker fighting against institutional inertia. As a mid-run installment, issue 24 continues the narrative momentum of the series, reflecting the creator's intent to highlight personal integrity within a complex industrial landscape.
