Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng #26

Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng, known in its original Japanese as Salaryman Kintaro, was created by Hiroshi Motomiya and serialized in Weekly Young Jump starting in 1994. This long-running seinen manga explores the unconventional corporate life of Kintaro Yajima, a former biker gang leader who enters the white-collar world. The series is celebrated for its critique of Japanese corporate culture, blending traditional salaryman tropes with a rough-edged, rebellious spirit that resonates with readers navigating rigid professional hierarchies.

Issue number 26 represents a specific chapter in the ongoing narrative development of the series. Motomiya’s illustrative style is characterized by bold, kinetic lines and expressive character designs that emphasize the physical presence of his protagonist. As the series progressed throughout the 1990s and 2000s, it received significant critical and commercial attention, eventually inspiring live-action adaptations and cementing its status as a staple of seinen manga that bridges the gap between gritty action and modern office drama.
