Shaolin #3

Shaolin #3 is part of a short-lived but cult-favorite independent comic series published by London-based Tundra Publishing in the early 1990s. The series was designed to tap into the era's fascination with martial arts cinema and Eastern philosophy, blending hyper-stylized action sequences with a gritty, underground aesthetic common to the alternative comic scene of the time.

The art and narrative direction were spearheaded by creators who utilized bold, ink-heavy panels and kinetic layouts to convey the intensity of the Shaolin temple lore. While the series did not reach mainstream prominence, it was noted by collectors of 90s indie comics for its commitment to a specific visual tone, serving as a representative example of how smaller publishers experimented with genre fiction before the market shifted focus later in the decade.
