She-Spawn #1

She-Spawn #1 was published in 2011 as part of Image Comics' long-running Spawn franchise, which was created by Todd McFarlane. The character, Nyx, had previously appeared in the main Spawn title before receiving her own limited series to explore her role as a female iteration of the Hellspawn legacy. The project emerged during a period in which McFarlane was actively expanding the mythos of his universe through various spin-off miniseries.

The issue was written by Todd McFarlane and illustrated by Szymon Kudranski, whose dark, moody aesthetic was selected to align with the gothic, gritty tone established in the main series. The narrative focused on the complexities of Nyx’s transition and her struggle with the powers she inherited. It was received as a stylistic expansion of the Spawn brand, catering primarily to established fans of the franchise who were interested in the evolution of its supporting characters.
