Sonic the Hedgehog #112

Sonic the Hedgehog #112 was published by Archie Comics in September 2002. It serves as a continuation of the long-running series based on the Sega video game franchise, representing the era of the comic where the narrative became increasingly complex, often drawing inspiration from the Dreamcast-era games like Sonic Adventure. This issue is notable for its role in the broader 'World Tour' arc, which moved away from earlier, more whimsical storytelling toward a tone that attempted to integrate the rapidly evolving video game lore with the comic's own unique, established continuity.

The interior art for this period was largely handled by creators who balanced the high-energy demands of the Sonic brand with the series' ongoing soap-opera-style character dramas. While the issue fits into the established house style of the time, it reflects a transitional phase for the publication as it struggled to align its internal mythos with the global branding shifts occurring at Sega during the early 2000s. It remains a requested item for completionist collectors who focus on the Archie run, specifically for those interested in the middle-series developmental shifts in character characterization.
