Spider-Man: Quality of Life #3

Spider-Man: Quality of Life was a four-issue limited series published by Marvel Comics in 2002. The story was written by Greg Rucka with artwork by Scott McDaniel, focusing on a more grounded, corporate-thriller narrative that explored Peter Parker’s intersection with environmental ethics and high-stakes pharmaceutical research. The series was created to offer a self-contained narrative arc that balanced Peter's journalistic obligations at the Daily Bugle with his responsibilities as a hero.

The visual design of the series reflects the gritty, dynamic aesthetic popularized by Scott McDaniel during the early 2000s, characterized by bold lines and kinetic action sequences. In this third installment, the narrative tension heightens as the mystery surrounding the series' central corporate antagonists deepens. While the series did not fundamentally alter Spider-Man's long-term continuity, it is regarded by collectors as a notable example of the early 2000s trend toward short-form, writer-driven comic book storytelling.
