Star Wars: The Constancia Affair - Kenner Special #1

The Constancia Affair was a promotional comic book released in 1994, created through a partnership between Dark Horse Comics and Kenner to accompany the relaunch of the Star Wars action figure line. Produced during a period of intense renewed interest in the franchise following the publication of Timothy Zahn’s novels, the comic served as a narrative bridge to reintroduce fans to classic characters and vehicles as they appeared in their updated toy forms.

The creative team utilized the comic to provide context for the Power of the Force figure line, blending nostalgic appeal with the serialized storytelling style prevalent in early nineties comics. While it functions primarily as a marketing vehicle, it is noted by collectors for its role in anchoring the revitalization of Star Wars merchandise, effectively bridging the gap between the original trilogy’s legacy and the modern era of character-focused collectibles.
