Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #1

Released in December 2019, Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #1 serves as a pivotal entry in the Star Wars canon, bridging the gap between Ben Solo’s time as a Jedi apprentice and his ultimate emergence as the villainous Kylo Ren. Written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Will Sliney, the miniseries was developed to address the missing history of the Knights of Ren and the specific circumstances surrounding Ben Solo’s departure from Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy.

The creative team aimed to provide a nuanced exploration of Ben Solo’s internal conflict, moving away from a simple binary of good versus evil to focus on the external pressures and manipulations that influenced his transition. The issue was well-received by fans and critics alike, noted for its expansion of the sequel trilogy’s lore and Sliney’s distinct visual style, which captures the emotional weight of the character's descent into the dark side.
