Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu – Danger in the Dark #1

Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu – Danger in the Dark #1 was published by Dark Horse Comics in 2024 as part of a miniseries expanding the narrative world of the live-action Disney+ series. Created to bridge gaps in the series timeline and offer fans further insight into the titular characters' travels across the galaxy, the comic was released during a period of sustained interest in the Mandalorian's expanded lore. It reflects the ongoing collaborative efforts between Lucasfilm and their publishing partners to maintain consistent character beats across different media platforms.

The issue features artwork and storytelling that prioritize the visual language established by the television production, emphasizing the bond between the Mandalorian and Grogu. The creative team aimed to replicate the atmospheric tension and western-inspired aesthetic of the show within the constraints of the comic book medium. Upon release, it was received as a standard addition to the Star Wars publishing canon, appealing primarily to established fans of the series looking for supplemental material that respects the established tone and visual identity of the source material.
