Superman #157

Published by DC Comics in November 1962, Superman #157 is a significant entry in the Silver Age of comic books. The issue is primarily remembered for its lead story, The Superman Super-Spectacular, which features the Man of Steel interacting with various DC characters of the era. This period of Superman's history was defined by imaginative, often surreal high-concept storytelling that prioritized self-contained narratives and playful interaction between established heroes, reflecting the broader editorial shift toward more whimsical themes during the early 1960s.

The issue features artwork by Curt Swan, the definitive Superman artist of the time, whose clean, realistic lines became the visual standard for the character. The writing and creative direction were managed under the long-standing editorial oversight of Mort Weisinger, who curated the expansive Superman mythos during this decade. The issue was received as a standard but quintessential installment of the series, contributing to the consistent, reliable world-building that kept the title as a flagship property for DC throughout the mid-century period.
