Superman #146

Published in July 1961, Superman #146 stands as a notable example of the Silver Age of comic books, a period characterized by imaginative, often surreal narratives. This issue is best known for the story 'The Superman Super-Multi-Body!,' which explores the character's struggle to manage a world of increasingly complex threats through the literal division of his physical form. It reflects the creative efforts of editor Mort Weisinger and his team, who pushed the boundaries of the character’s powers to maintain engagement with younger readers during the mid-twentieth century.

The interior art features the work of Curt Swan, the definitive Superman artist of the era whose clean lines and grounded character design helped define the visual language of DC Comics for decades. The cover, illustrated by Swan and inked by Stan Kaye, captures the whimsical and high-concept style prevalent in 1960s Superman titles. Like many issues of this time, it was received as a standard installment of the ongoing monthly series, contributing to the foundational lore of the Man of Steel before the more significant thematic shifts of the subsequent bronze age.
