T.A.M.A. #3

T.A.M.A. (Technological Advanced Military Android) emerged during the mid-1980s as part of the flourishing market for independent science fiction comics that sought to capitalize on the era's fascination with cybernetics and dystopian futurism. Issue #3 arrived as the series attempted to establish a coherent narrative arc, reflecting the common industry trend of testing experimental character concepts within limited-run anthology or episodic formats to gauge audience interest.

The creative direction of the series leaned heavily into the aesthetic hallmarks of 1980s mechanical design, featuring jagged linework and high-contrast ink patterns meant to evoke a gritty, industrial atmosphere. As an independent publication, it reflects the DIY spirit of the decade's small-press scene, where creators often operated with minimal editorial oversight, resulting in a niche, stylized work that appealed primarily to enthusiasts of obscure, underground speculative fiction.
