T.A.M.A. #4

T.A.M.A. (Totally Awesome Mutant Animals) was a comic book series published by Innovation Comics in the early 1990s. The series emerged during a period when the market was saturated with anthropomorphic animal characters, following the immense popularity of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Issue #4 continued the narrative arc of these mutant creatures, fitting into the independent publisher's strategy of diversifying their catalog with genre-based action comics.

The series was part of a wave of black-and-white independent comics that relied on stylized, gritty character designs to appeal to a younger demographic. Innovation Comics utilized various freelance contributors to produce the artwork, focusing on high-energy action sequences and character-driven plots. While it did not achieve mainstream critical acclaim, it serves as a representative example of the boom-and-bust cycle of small-press comic book publishing during that era.
