Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus #4

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus #4 was published by Dreamwave Productions in 2004 as part of a tie-in limited series for the 2003 animated television show. The series was designed to expand upon the lore established in the cartoon, specifically focusing on the interdimensional tournament depicted in the second season. Like many of Dreamwave's licensed publications during this era, it served as supplementary material intended to appeal to the younger demographic viewing the Fox Box programming block.

The art and storytelling in the Battle Nexus series were crafted to mirror the aesthetic and tone of the 4Kids Entertainment animated production. While Dreamwave eventually ceased operations shortly after this period, their tenure with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license is remembered for attempting to bridge the gap between television episodic content and traditional comic book formats. The issue is primarily sought today by completionists of the Mirage and 4Kids-era TMNT publishing history rather than for its individual critical impact.
