Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones #4

Released in 1994 as the conclusion to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones miniseries, this issue was published by Mirage Studios. The series served as a gritty, character-focused expansion of the original Mirage TMNT universe, delving into the vigilante past and personal demons of the hockey-masked character Casey Jones. It was written and illustrated by Rich Hedden and Tom McWeeney, creators who were known for their stylized, often dark take on the Turtles' supporting cast.

The creative direction of this miniseries sought to emphasize a grounded, noir-inspired aesthetic that contrasted with the more traditional action-adventure tone of the main TMNT title. By focusing on Casey Jones, the creators leaned into themes of trauma and street-level justice that had defined his character since his debut. The series is remembered by long-term fans as a pivotal exploration of the character's psychology during the peak of the independent comic book movement in the early 1990s.
