Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla #5

Released in 2024 as the conclusion to the five-part crossover miniseries published by IDW Publishing, this issue brings together two iconic pillars of pop culture: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Godzilla. The collaboration was conceived to celebrate milestone anniversaries for both franchises, blending the gritty, urban aesthetic of the Turtles with the cinematic scale of the Kaiju genre. The narrative serves as a high-stakes finale, tasking the Turtles with preventing a multiversal collapse triggered by the intersection of their respective worlds.

The issue features art by Drew Ewen, who was tasked with maintaining the distinct visual languages of both the IDW TMNT comic continuity and the classic Toho Godzilla design. The creative team aimed to balance the tactical, team-based combat of the turtles against the overwhelming, nearly unstoppable force of a giant monster. Upon release, the series was received as a nostalgic and ambitious tribute to both properties, notable for its ability to navigate complex licensing requirements to deliver a cohesive action-adventure story.
