The Amazing Spider-Man #318

The Amazing Spider-Man issue #318 was published by Marvel Comics in 1989 during a period defined by the creative collaboration between writer David Michelinie and artist Todd McFarlane. This specific issue features the conclusion of a two-part story arc involving the character Titania, providing a bridge between major narrative events in the series. The work occupies a significant moment in Spider-Man history, as McFarlane’s highly detailed and stylized aesthetic began to drastically alter the visual language of the character and influence the broader trajectory of 1990s comic book art.

The cover and interior art reflect the signature dynamic posing and dense line work that cemented Todd McFarlane as a seminal artist in the industry. At the time of release, this issue was part of a robust period for Marvel as it sought to balance traditional superhero storytelling with an increasingly bold, expressive visual style. It remains a notable entry for collectors tracking the evolution of Spider-Man’s visual identity during the late eighties, serving as a testament to the era's transition toward the more experimental design choices that would dominate the following decade.
