The Amazing Spider-Man #550

The Amazing Spider-Man #550 was published by Marvel Comics in March 2008 as part of the 'Brand New Day' storyline, a soft reboot of the Spider-Man continuity following the controversial 'One More Day' arc. The narrative, written by Bob Gale and illustrated by Phil Jimenez, focuses on Peter Parker navigating his life as a single man while investigating a series of violent incidents involving a new vigilante, and it emphasizes the return of a more traditional, grounded tone for the character during a period of significant editorial restructuring.

Phil Jimenez’s design work for this issue aimed to restore a classic aesthetic to the series, focusing on detailed cityscapes and expressive character acting to anchor the transition into the new era of the title. The issue was received as a functional installment in the broader initiative to stabilize the series after the radical changes of the previous year, with readers generally praising Jimenez's clean lines and the effort to refocus the story on Peter's personal struggles and detective work.
