The End 2099 #4

The End 2099 was a short-lived limited series published by Marvel Comics in 2004, serving as part of the publisher's thematic exploration of the final days of various iconic characters. This specific series focused on the dark, dystopian future of the Marvel 2099 line, which had originally launched in the early 1990s as a high-concept reimagining of its primary heroes and villains set a century into the future.

Written by Robert Kirkman with interior art by Eric Wight, issue #4 brings the narrative thread of this dystopian vision to its conclusion. The creative team aimed to provide a definitive, melancholic finale to the 2099 imprint, utilizing a moody, illustrative style that departed from the traditional house style of the 1990s. While the series was received as a niche retrospective for long-term fans of the 2099 universe, it stands as a singular, encapsulated moment in the company's experimental publishing history of the early 2000s.
